Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of morning hair. I couldn't do it to look right. As I was dashing out the door, I stumbled and gracefully all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was extremely late for work.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to run away and hide.
